*Obituary
Billie G. Dent, 92, of Amarillo, formerly of Borger, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008.

Private services for the family will be by Brown Funeral Directors of Borger.

Mrs. Dent was born Billie Geneva Irvin on March 15, 1915, in Guthrie, Okla., to Ellis and Frances Irvin. She was a longtime resident of Borger, where she worked as an office assistant for Dr. Whitesides and was also a member of First United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Borger Evening Lions Club, Jane Phillips sorority, and Ladies Chamber of Commerce.

A heartfelt thank you to all the staff of Heritage Convalescent Center who cared for and loved Nana. Heritage, the place Billie called home for the past 10 years, was special to her not only because of the love she gave and received from the staff, but because she was surrounded by family. Her daughter, Rue Davidson, worked as a nurse at Heritage for 25 years. Ruegena Davidson, her granddaughter, is the administrator.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Lee Dent Jr., in 1991; and a daughter, Rue Davidson, in 2004.

She is survived by a daughter, Doris Jean Bledso; a son, C.H. Curtright; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to Activities Fund, Heritage Convalescent Center, 1009 Clyde St., Amarillo, TX 79106.
