BORGER - Wallace Downs, 77, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Riverview Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Gillmore and the Rev. Kenton Crews officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors.

Mr. Downs was a retired electrician for Phillips Petroleum Co. He served in the Army during World War II.

Survivors include three sons, Ronald Downs of Borger, Richard Downs of Brownsboro and Danny Downs of Beaumont; two brothers, Carlton Downs and Douglas Downs, both of Borger; eight grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice, 1000 S. Jefferson, Amarillo, TX 79101.

Mrs. Faye Downs, 56, of 2122 Hemlock in Borger died Friday evening in Golden Plains Community Hospital.

A housewife, she was a native of Mount Vernon, Texas and a Borger resident for 4 years. She was also a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Wallace; son, Wallace Ronald of Borger; son, Richard Duwayne of Lake Worth, Texas; son Danny Lynn of Beaumont, Texas; brother, Eugene Pitts of Detroit, Michigan; brother, James Pitts of Amarillo; sister, Mrs. Irene Krapp of Forgan, Okla.; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, at New Hope Baptist Church with the pastor, the Rev. Don Hughes, and the Rev. James Berry of Amarillo officiating.

Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Ed Brown and Sons Funeral Directors.
