Bertha Hatfield Eagan, 93, Borger, died Tuesday, June 29, 1993 in Golden Plains Community Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Minton Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Steve Miller, associate pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
A native of Plain, N.M., she came to Borger in 1926 in a covered wagon. She was a housekeeper and cook, and retired in 1979 after 33 years from J.M. Huber Corp.
She married Roy "Shorty" Eagan Jan. 15, 1916 in Tucumcari, N.M. He died in 1955. She was preceded in death by a son, Edward Eagan in 1972; two daughters, Opal Knight in 1981; and Joyce Luttrell in 1992.
Survivors include four sons, Oral Lee Eagan of Los Angeles, Calif.; Ted Eagan of Seaside, Calif.; Bob Eagan of Borger; and Bill Eagan of Guymon, Okla.; five daughters, Etta Mowery of San Diego, Calif.; Lois Herdman of Bonner Springs, Kan.; Ruth South of Mobeetie; Gloria Jones of Borger; and Janet Babb of Pampa; a brother, James Hatfield of Albuquerque, N.M.; three sisters, Ora Bowen of Roswell, N.M.; Ida Sparks of Baytown; Naomi Wrinkle of Clovis, N.M.; 30 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; and 93 great-great-grandchildren.
