BORGER NEWS HERALD - November 6, 2006

William A. "Pete" Ford, 79, died Sunday, Nov. 5, in Amarillo.

Services are pending with Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Mr. Ford was born March 24, 1927, in Fox, Okla., and was a Borger resident for 70 years. He was a stillman for Phillips Petroleum Company for 38 years and served in the U.S. Army 7th Division, 32nd Infantry during World War II.

He was known as "FixIt" to many and was a member of Riverview Baptist Church.

He married Frances Blankenship on Sept. 20, 1947, in Borger.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Addisyn Michelle Spencer, a sister Inez Britten, and his parents, Aubrey and Mable Ford.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Sharon Byrd of Borger, Gale Sable and husband Randy of Amarillo, Janet Bauert and husband Ken of Sanford, and Karen Lemley and husband Ben of Amarillo; a sister Hele Buehler of Murray, Utah; 12 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.

FRITCH — Delois Frances Ford, 81, of Fritch died Wednesday May 9, 2012.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Riverview Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Gillmore, pastor, and the Rev. Scott Wallace, associate pastor, officiating. Burial
will follow in Highland Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Frances has lived in the area for 75 years and was a member of Riverview Baptist Church. She was a sales associate at J.C. Penney Co. in Borger.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. "Pete" Ford, in 2006; a daughter, Sharon Byrd, in 2010; and a son-in-law, Larry Byrd, in 1998.

Survivors include three daughters, Gail Sable and husband Randy and Karen Lemley and husband Ben, all of Amarillo, and Janet Bauert and husband Ken of Borger; a sister, Sue Doughten of Stinnett; a brother, Jerry Blankenship of Stinnett;
12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
