Ralls — Graveside services for John Bratton, 76, of Houston will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 17, 2003 in the Ralls Cemetery with the Rev. Floyd Haddock officiating. Arrangements are under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
He died on May 12, 2003 in Houston. He was born on January 7, 1927 in Kosse, Texas to Fred and Geraldine Kelly Bratton. He married Virginia Faye Reed on December 16, 1949 in Lubbock. She preceded him in death on May 19, 1978.
He was a graduate of Reagan High School in Houston. He served in the Philippines during WWII with the Third Medical Company as a Tech Sergeant. He worked for Stafford Chemical Co. for 35 years as a Chemical Supervisor retiring in 1986.
Survivors include a daughter Charlotte Parton and her husband Richard of Houston, a brother Neil Bratton and his wife Florence of Houston, two brothers-in-law: Norman "Beans" Reed and his wife Gene of Ralls, Sam Reed of Weatherford, a sister-in-law Dorothy Reed of Ralls, two grandchildren Reed Parton and Victoria Parton both of Houston and many nieces and nephews.
