LORENZO (Special) - Funeral services for Warren Ellis Brown, 71, lifelong resident of Crosby County, will be at 2:30 p.m. today in the Lorenzo Methodist Church.
Brown, father of Joe Warren Brown, publisher of The Lorenzo Tribune, died suddenly of an apparent heart attack about 11:45 p.m. Monday at his home.
Officiating at the services will be the Rev. Bruce Parks, pastor of the church, assisted by the Rev. U.S. Sherrill, a former pastor, now of Abernathy.
Burial will be in Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Carter Funeral Home of Ralls.
Brown was a farmer and a veteran of World War I. He was born Dec. 21, 1894 in Crosby County and was married Dec. 2, 1929 to the former Ivy Mae Smith in the First Methodist Church at Mineral Wells. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Joe Warren, who also is an Avalanche-Journal staff member, and Walter Ellis Brown, both of Lorenzo; a brother, Bailey Brown, Idalou; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Dillard and Miss Belle Brown, both of Lorenzo; and four grandchildren.
