Funeral services for Rubbie "Rube" Gamble, 81, of Borger were at 2 p.m. today in Minton Memorial Chapel with Mr. Richard Kasko, minister of the Gardner Street Church of Christ, officiating.

He died at 2:50 a.m. Tuesday in Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo.

A native of Crowell, he moved to Borger in 1937 from Marlow, Okla. He was a retired pipefitter for Local 196.

He was a Baptist, and member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 196 of Amarillo.

He married Edith Taylor, March 27, 1929 in Lawton, Okla.

He was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Lee Gamble in 1983.

Survivors include his wife of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Loyd Sable of Borger; Mrs. Joyce Toole of Salida, Colo.; and Mrs. Betty Ann Sparks of Casper, Wyo.; one son, Dana F. Gamble of Fritch; one brother, Murl Gamble of Hurst; one sister, Thelma Johnson of Ft. Worth; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Randy Sable, Brad Sable, Mike Lewis, Dean Gamble, Danny Gamble, and Craig Sparks.

Burial was in Highland Park Cemetery by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
