Borger News Herald - Octaviano "Pete" Garcia Sr., 70, of 701 N. Brain in Borger, died Friday, Dec. 11, 1992 in San Antonio.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15, at St. John's Catholic Church with Msgr. Norgert Kuehler officiating.

Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 14, at Minton Memorial Chapel.

Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors.

A retired employee of Bob Johnson Motor Company, Mr. Garcia was a native of Bauerros, New Mexico, and a Borger resident since 1926.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Corps. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, past Commander of American Legion Post 412, American Motorcycle Club, Knights of Columbus, past member BPOE, volunteer at St. John's school and an usher. As a youth, he delivered telegrams for Western Union.

He married Connie Robles on Jan. 3, 1944, in Garden City, Kan.

He is survived by his wife, Connie, of the home; two sons, Danny Garcia, of San Antonio, and Pete Garcia Jr., of Denson; three daughters, Olivia Martinez Abshire, of San Antonio, Sophia Garcia Robles, of Santa Cruz, Calif., and Yvonne Payne, of Borger; one brother, Adam Garcia, of San Antonio; three sisters, Dora McLane, of Sequine, Beatrice George, of Tyler, and Teresa Vasques, of San Antonio; and seven grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Lupe "Pete" Garcia, Guy Carcia, Chris Garcia, Steve Garcia, Jamie Garcia and Tim Garcia.
