John M. Garrard, 88, 1403 Clayton, a local resident since 1941, died at North Plains Hospital at 7:30 a.m. Saturday after a brief illness.

Garrard was a retired employee of Gulf Oil Corp. and a member of the First Baptist Church. He was a past master of Isom Masonic Lodge 1242 A.F. & A.M.

Funeral services will be conducted from the First Baptist Church Monday at 2 p.m., Rev. Dan B. Cameron, pastor, and Jack Orbison, Church of Christ minister, officiating.

Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Ed Brown, Funeral Director.

Masonic rites by the lodge will be held. All members of Isom Lodge are requested to meet at the Masonic Temple.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ethel Garrard of the home; three sons, T.J., Perryton. W.A. of Wickett, and G.E. Garrard, Tucson, Ariz.; three daughters, Mrs. N.W. Lantron, Mesa, Ariz., Mrs. J.D. Pollard, Wichita Falls and Mrs. R.S. Holt, Dallas; one sister, Mrs. Annie Baker, Phoenix, Ariz. and 17 grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel O. Garrard, 80, of Midland, former longtime Borgan, are to be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from Gardner Street Church of Christ with the minister, J.R. Chism, officiating.

Burial in Highland Park Cemetery will be directed by Ed Brown & Sons.

Mrs. Garrard died Wednesday in Midland. She had resided in Borger until five years ago, at the death of her husband, John M. Garrard, when she moved to Midland.

Surviving are three sons, Jack of Midland, Bill of Wickett, Glenn of Salt Lake City; three daughters, Mrs. Venita Lantron of Mesa, Ariz., Mrs. Levinia Holt, Dallas, Mrs. Arvilla Pollard, Wichita Falls; two sisters, Miss Florence Jackson, Oklahoma City, Mrs. Jim Dulsworth, Pauls Valley, Okla.; 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
