Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Chapel of the Fountains for James T. Gifford, 68, a resident of Borger since 1944. Gifford died at his home, 519 Missouri, at 12:00 noon Tuesday. He was born June 10, 1897, in Alabama, and lived in Borger as a retired construction worker.

Rev. R.L. Hillerby, pastor of the East Side Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Ed Brown and Sons Funeral Directors.

Survivors include his wife, Millie, four sons, Terry, Borger; James E., Amarillo; Billy Ray, Edmond, Okla., and Gary Don, Oberlin, Kan.; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Beard, Borger; one brother, M.F. Gifford, Lefors.

Millie Carrie Gifford, 89, of Borger, died Thursday at North Plains Care Center in Borger.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, at the Church of God with Reverend L.K. Lawley and Reverend Jonathan Back, church pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Brown Funeral Directors of Borger.

Mrs. Gifford was a native of Alice and a Borger resident for 56 years. She was a member of the Church of God and was a retired cook from Charlie's Diner.

She was preceded in death by her husband James T. Gifford on Oct. 26, 1965; a son, Roy Lee Gifford in 1948; and a brother, Henry Garner in 1989.

She is survived by four sons, James Gifford of Fritch, Bill Gifford of Paden, Gary Don Gifford of Amarillo, Terry Gifford of Borger; one daughter, Janie Rook of Fritch; three sisters, Lula Annie Martin of Kimball, Neb., Nellis Mae Ryan of Stonewall, Okla., Grace Martin of Galena Park; twelve grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Crown of Texas Hospice, 1000 South Jefferson, Amarillo, TX 79101.

Casket bearers will be Mrs. Gifford's grandsons.
