BORGER, Dec. 18 (Special) - James E. Gipson, 72 years old, died at 4 o'clock Monday morning at his home, 415 Alabama. He had been ill for a long time.
Mr. Gipson was a veteran of the Spanish-American War. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, five daughters, Mr. J.W. Damron and Mrs. J.B. Hughes, both of Borger; Mrs. Charlie Robinson, Bennington, Okla.; Mrs. J.W. Lucas, Brownfield; and Mrs. Everett Gage, Witharral; six sons, Eldon, E.H., Prentice and T.L. Gipson, all of Borger; R.A. Gipson, Oklahoma City and Talmage Gipson, Brownfield; two brothers, Rome Gipson, Eugene, Ore., and Alfred Gipson, Pilot Point, Tex.; 29 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at Fellowship Baptist Church. Rev. Charles E. McDowell will officiate.
Military rites will be conducted at Highland Park Cemetery by members of Borger VFW Post 1789.
Services are under the direction of Minton Funeral Home.
