AMARILLO - Graveside services for Opal Griffin, 80, were at 3 p.m. today in Highland Park Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Harold Daniel, associate pastor, the Rev. Jim Garrett, pastor, and the Rev. James Preston, associate pastor, all of Polk Street United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial was by Schooler-Gordon Bell Avenue Chapel.

Mrs. Griffin died Sunday, March 31, 1991.

A native of Vandervoort, Ark., she moved to Amarillo eight years ago from Borger, where she had been a longtime resident. She was a cook for Nu Way Cafe in Borger for 35 years. She was a Baptist.

Survivors include two sons, Philip Wright of Amarillo; and Byrum Wright of Devner [sic], Colo.; a stepson, James Griffin of Silverton; a daughter, Ramona Berry of Oklahoma City; a brother, Woodrow Phillips of Sayre, Okla.; two sisters, Viola Brochi and Louise Burden, both of Sayre; and 10 grandchildren.

The family requests memorials be made to the activities department of Golden Plains Nursing Home in Canyon or Meals on Wheels.
