Charles William "Charley" Haddock, 83, of 320 Coble, died at 2 p.m. Thursday in North Plains Hospital.

Haddock was born Sept. 25, 1892 in Indian Territory, Okla. and had been a resident of Borger since 1926. He was employed for the past 40 years as general superintendent for Sand Springs Oil and Gas Company.

He was a charter member of the North Plains Knife and Fork Club and the Community Concert Association. He was past president of the FFA Board of Directors and the Salvation Army Advisory Board and was also a member of the Borger Chamber of Commerce, Borger Country Club and the Trinity Lutheran Church.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Craig Doshe, minister, officiating.

Interment will be in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Mortuary.

The casket will remain open at the mortuary until one hour before the services.

Survivors include his wife, Helen of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Jerry Williams of Fritch; a stepson, Dr. Joe Keeney of Houston; his stepmother, Mrs. Emma Haddock of Dallas; a brother, Dewey Haddock of Hatch, NM; two half sisters, Mrs. Lillian Johnston and Mrs. Rosalie Alexander both of Dallas; and six grandchildren.

The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.

Casketbearers will be Dick Greene, Don Gipson, Jerry Cotner, Chuck Nutter, Roy Conner and Bill Stevens.

Honorary casketbearers will be Lester Wiles, Carl Harber, Ware Harder, Frank Groce, Ray Tiede and A.M.L. Kube.
