Frank J. Harper
Frank Jesse, eldest son of Noah and Mary Elizabeth Harper, was born near Glasco, Kansas, January 3, 1887, and passed away in North Plains hospital in Borger, Texas, May 10, 1946, aged 59 years, 4 months, 7 days.
He received his education in the public schools of Cloud County, Kansas and was graduated from Kansas Wesleyan University in 1910. He became a cashier in a bank in Logan, Kansas, where he met and married Miss Lola F. Daugherty, December 31, 1913. To this union were born two children.
He became a member of the Methodist Church of Glasco, Kansas, in early boyhood. Wherever he lived his church was a vital part of his life. He was also a member and past president of the Lion’s Club promoting civic life of the community. In 1926 he came to west Texas and was City Manager of Panhandle, Texas. Later he was employed by the Danube Oil Company.
He is survived by his wife and two children, Mrs. Joe Tooley, Pampa, Texas, Herbert L. Harper, New York City, three granddaughters, Bette Joe and Melinda Tooley and Nancy Louise Harper of New York City; one brother and three sisters and two nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were at the Methodist church in Borger, at 2:30 Monday. Rev. Rheu in charge. Interment was at Borger.
