Funeral services for Ira Otis Harper, 66, of 1202 Haggard, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Chapel of the First Baptist Church.

Interment will follow in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Ed Brown & Sons Funeral Directors.

Harper died at 3:55 p.m. Monday at North Plains Hospital. He was a retired employee of Southwestern Public Service Company and was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Opal of the home; two sons, James Harper of Fritch, Ronald Peterson with the U.S. Marine Corp, stationed in McAlester, Okla.; two daughters, Judy of the home; Mrs. Wanda Catchings of Sylacauga, Ala.; one brother, Ralph Harper of Pueblo, Colo.; one sister, Mrs. Louise Schauer of Harrison, Idaho; and four grandchildren.

Opal Harper, 81, Borger, died Friday, Aug. 2, 1996 in her home.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. Gregg Simmons, pastor, officiating.

Burial was in Highland Park Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors.

A native of Teague, she had been a Borger resident for 51 years. She was a housewife and member of First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Harper in 1972; and a daughter, Judy Dancer in 1995.

Survivors include, two sons, Jim Harper of Amarillo; and Pete Peterson of Borger; a daughter, Wanda Catchings of Sylacauga, Ala.; a brother, Raymond Isham of Amarillo; a sister, Ruby Hurt of Amarillo; 8 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Casketbearers were E.J. Webb, John Bayless, Bill Willard, Joe Boyett, Charles Dixon, and Don Ormson.
