BORGER - Funeral services for T.W. (Blondy) Hawks, 58, of 407 Baylor, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Tobin, vicar of St. Peters Episcopal Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery by Ed Brown Funeral Director.
Mr. Hawks owned and operated the Bi-Rite Drug Store here. He died late Sunday night in St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo.
He came to Borger in 1926 and worked at the old Nyal Drug Store in the 600 block of Main. He had been a registered pharmacist since 1930, with experience in Wyoming, Colorado and Texas.
He managed a chain of several Cretney Drug Stores in the Panhandle before going into business for himself in 1949.
Mr. Hawks served three years as a medic during World War II.
Surviving are his wife, a daughter, three brothers and a sister.

Pansy Bea Hawks, 96, Borger, died Wednesday, June 24, 1992 in Golden Plains Community Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Gregg Simmons, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
A native of Dublin, Texas, she had been a Borger resident since 1928. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church, Borger Duplicate Club and a Grand Champion Bridge player.
She was preceded in death by her husband, T.W. "Blondie" Hawks in 1965.
Survivors include a daughter, Jeanne Smith of Amarillo; and a granddaughter of Amarillo.
