Funeral Services for Mattie Ruth Hendon, 87, of Garland will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Minton Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Lee Fuller, pastor of the Fritch Southern Baptist Church, officiating.

Mrs. Hendon died Tuesday in Methodist Hospital in Stephenville.

She was born in Erath County, Texas. She and her husband owned and operated the Fairway Nursery from 1946 to 1962.

She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Fritch, Borger Rebecca Lodge 286 and was Past Noble Grand.

She married Eber Hendon Dec. 15, 1929 in Erath County.

He preceded her in death Dec. 7, 1981.

Survivors include one daughter, Dorothy Lee Patterson of Fritch; three sons, J.E. Hendon, Jr. of Dublin, Texas; Bill Hendon of St. Michaels, Md.; and Daved Hendon of Garland; one brother, Lee Garrett of Stephenville; 16 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

The family will be staying at 1107 Jackson.

Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
