Delbert H. Hubbard, 90, died Friday, November 14, 1997, at Baptist/St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Fairlanes Baptist Church with Rev. Shad Rue, retired minister, and Rev. Art McAninch, pastor, officiating.

Burial was in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Brown Funeral Directors of Borger.

A native of Lamar, Colo., Mr. Hubbard was a retired safety director with Phillips Petroleum Company. He had been a Phillips and Borger area resident for 58 years. He was a charter member of Fairlanes Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He attended Texas Tech University.

He was a 60-year member of Adobe Walls Masonic Lodge No. 1355. He was a former member and a past president of the Phillips Lions Club, member emeritus of the American Society of Safety Engineers and a past director of the Texas Safety Association.

Mr. Hubbard also was a past president of the Panhandle Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers and a life member of the Lions Crippled Children.

Mr. Hubbard married Evelyn Plunkett on Dec. 2, 1928, at Mexia.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; a daughter, Jo Ann Kuhrt, of Borger; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Casket bearers were Larry J. Thompson, Larry R. Thompson, Jeff Parker, Jay White, Danny Kindy, Richard Braymer and Jeff Walker.

BORGER - Evelyn G. Hubbard, 91, died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2000.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Fairlanes Baptist Church with the Rev. Chad Chaddick, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Hubbard was born in Wortham and had lived in Phillips and Borger for the past 61 years. She earned her master's degree at West Texas State Teachers College.

A retired music teacher, she taught in Phillips and was the fine arts chairman at Frank Phillips College. She was pianist for Phil-Original and organist and pianist for Phillips First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Hubbard was a member of the 20th Century Music Club, Retired Teacher's Association and Fairlanes Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert H. Hubbard, in 1997.

Survivors include a daughter, Jo Ann Kuhrt of Borger; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Fairlanes Baptist Church, 3000 Fairlanes Blvd., Borger, TX 79007; or Frank Phillips College, 1301 W. Roosevelt, Borger, TX 79007.
