COPPERAS COVE - Thomas Benton Humphreys, 91, of Copperas Cove, Texas, died Thursday, July 21, 1988 at Killeen. Funeral services were held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Copperas Cove. Burial will be Tuesday at Highland Park Cemetery in Borger.

Humphreys was born Nov. 27, 1896 in Guthrie, Texas. He lived in Copperas Cove for 15 years. He was a farmer and rancher and worked for Santa Fe railroad. A veteran of WWI, he attended school at Fort Balknap, Texas. He was a member of VFW Post 8577 in Copperas Cove, American Legion Post No. 277 of Lampassas, Texas, and the Blinded Veterans Association.

He was preceded in death by a son, Terry Humphreys in 1963. Survivors include his wife, Letha Humphreys of Copperas Cove; a son, Harry Humphreys of Bakersville, Calif.; two daughters, Linda Jo Reyna of Copperas Cove and Julia Florence Yost of Bakersville, Calif.; 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Crawford Bowers Funeral Home of Copperas Cove is in charge of the burial arrangements.
