BORGER - Mary Rosalie O'Grady Johnson, 87, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, in Amarillo.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel with Alan Williamson of Amarillo officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Johnson was born Nov. 3, 1917, in Maryville, Mo. She graduated from Pampa High School in 1934. Rosalie married M.C. Johnson in 1947. They opened the first Coronado Drug Store in Borger in 1947 and ran this business until 1964. She then joined Investors Diversified Services which later became American Express Financial Services, where she served as a financial planner until her retirement in 1995.

Rosalie was a charter member of Borger Altrusa Club, in which she served in many roles, including president. She was a founder of the Buttercup House, a quality community childcare center for Borger, and served on its board for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her mother, Anna O'Grady; and a son, J. Richard Pendergraft.

Survivors include a son, Dr. Tom Johnson and wife, Susan, of Amarillo; a daughter, Anette J. Carlisle and husband, Taylor, of Amarillo; a daughter-in-law, Cookie Pendergraft of Fort Worth; and 11 grandchildren, Adam Johnson, Sarah Johnson, Paul Johnson, Travis Johnson, Walker Carlisle, Darwin Carlisle, Everett Carlisle, Jeffrey Pendergraft, Scott Pendergraft, Steve Pendergraft and Jeff Pendergraft.

The family suggests memorials be to Buttercup House or Wildcat Bluff Nature Center.
