Hubert Kenneth Lane, 87, died Thursday, March 14, 2002, in the VA Hospital in Amarillo.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Fairlanes Baptist Church with Rev. Chad Chaddick, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Mr. Lane was a member of the Fairlanes Baptist Church and was a Borger resident since 1939. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He married Verlon Ruth Roulston on July 5, 1947, in Muskogee, Okla. He was a veteran of World War II in the Army Airforce, where he served in the South Pacific Theatre as a Sergeant.
Survivors include his wife, Verlon Ruth; a son, Max Lane of Borger; one daughter, Sherry Zink of Borger; brothers, Ralph Lane of Borger, Glen Lane of Okmulgee, Okla., and Roy Lane of Claremore, Okla.; one sister, Lorene McCollum of Borger; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Casket bearers will be Rex Yoder, O.R. Brown, Bill Morgan, David Shannon, Harold Hardy and Richard Braymer. Honorary casket bearers will be members of the Faith Sunday School Class at Fairlanes Baptist.
