BORGER — Henry J Lay, 75, of Borger died Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011, in Amarillo.
Celebration of life services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Word of Life Church with Rev. Norman Shuman, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Mr. Lay was born Nov. 17, 1935, in Pine Valley, Okla. He grew up in Wright City, Okla., where he learned to love gospel music and sang with local church quartets.
Survivors include his wife, Fern; three children, Frank Lay, Bobby Lay and Cathy Pesch; 10 grandchilden; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Floyd Lay and Otis Lay; three sisters Joyce Bryant, Lois Thompson and Janice Carey, all of Klammath Falls, Ore.
