Mattie Louise Cox Briggs, age 92 passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2016 in a Clarksville Texas Nursing Facility. Mrs. Briggs was born December 18, 1923 in Johntown, Texas.
She was a member of the Assembly of God Church, a homemaker, retired from Lone Star Army Ammunition Plant and cooked at the New Boston Nursing Home. She was married to Thurman ‘Buddy” Briggs and is preceded in death by him and three daughters, Marzella ‘Bunny’ Stewart, Serita Greene and Lori Beth Briggs.
She is survived by four sons and two daughters in law, Thomas Briggs of New Boston, Texas, Jimmy Briggs of New Boston, Texas, Johnny and DeLisa Briggs of DeKalb, Texas, Keith and Connie Briggs of DeKalb, Texas, five daughters and four sons in law, Mary and Joe Porter of Texarkana, Texas, Martha and Jerry Campbell of New Boston, Texas, Magdalene Johnson of New Boston, Texas, Bobbie Sue and Don Mitchell of Cuba, Missouri, Shelia and Mark Oestmann of Texarkana, Texas, 16 grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and a number of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, February 26, 2016 in the Bates Rolf Chapel, New Boston with Don Mitchell officiating.
