Graveside Services for Billy Lane Cartwright, 79, of Paducah will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday November 18, 2015 at Garden of Memories in Paducah with John Utley officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Zapata Funeral Home of Paducah. A visitation was held on November 17, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Cartwright passed from this life on November 16, 2015 in Childress. Billy was born on November 23, 1935 in Motley County to John Delaney and Annie Cooper Cartwright. He married Norma June Hardin on November 26, 1954 in Paducah. From this union they had two children; Bill and Sheila. Mr. Cartwright was a member of Jaycee’s, Cottle and King County Calf and Pig Show, Cottle County Pig Sale Association, the volunteer fire department, and he was a lifelong member of the Baptist Church. He retired from the City of Paducah. Those left to cherish his memory are his children; Sheila Puryear and husband Scott of Granbury, and Bill Cartwright Jr of Childress. Two grandchildren: Sara Ridenour and husband Doug of Arlington and Jay Britton Tidmore and wife Kristi of Waco. One great grandchild: Jantzen Blanco. And his sister Winona Welch of Big Spring. He is preceded in death by his wife Norma June Cartwright, his parents; John Delaney and Annie Cartwright, and three sisters. Memorial Donations in honor of Billy Cartwright can be made to the Paducah Cemetery Association
