Monti Bell was born July 11, 1911 in Cross Plains, TX to Merle and Lillie Mae Hawk.
She graduated Dickins High School with the class of ‘29.
She and her family were one of many who settled in Paducah after traveling from place to place in a covered wagon.
There were two great loves in her life. She was married to Herman Fox for 6 years until his passing in 1948 and later was married to Dudley
Dan Chewning until his passing in 2001.
Monti Bell worked for 50 years at the Isbell Drug Store of Paducah.
She was an avid Pythian Sister. a life time member of the Church of
Christ and a really "die hard" Democrat.
She claimed that if any member of her family ran for a public office as a Republican she would NOT vote for them.
Monti Bell's passion in life was loving and caring for her home and family. She was a great cook and loved making wonderful meals for her
family and friends. Her passion for this was so great that she would serve her family & friends before she would allow herself to eat.
She was also an avid Paducah Dragons Basketball fan. She attended every game they played until her health began to fail.
Monti Bell is preceded in death by Herman Fox her husband of 6 years and Dudley Dan Chewning, her husband of 30 years, one son - Roy Don Fox and one daughter Ruth Ann Box. 5 brothers - Wendell, Royce, Glenwood, Randall and J.B Hawk

She is survived by 2 sons - Herman Fox of Sterling City, TX and Dudley Dan Chewning of Lubbock, TX
7 grandchildren 11 great grandchildren and a wealth of close and loving friends
