J.R. Lievsay, 47, a resident of Borger since 1936, drowned about noon Saturday while on a weekend fishing excursion near Austin.

Lievsay, who was an employee of the Jake Vestal Casing Company, left Borger Friday with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Vestal.

He was reported to have drowned at Lake Buchanan on the John Vann Ranch near Austin. No other details were available.

He is survived by his wife, Ollie of the home, 616 N. Hedgecoke; two daughters, Mrs. Gene Bennett of Borger and Mrs. Glenn Compton of Fritch; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Lewis and Mrs. Adrian Richardson of Tulsa; a brother, Woodrow of California; and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.L. Lievsay of Durant, Okla.

The body is being returned here, pending services.

Last rites for J.R. Lievsay, 47, who drowned near Lampasas, Texas late Saturday morning, while on a fishing trip on Lake Buchanan, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Borger with Dr. Winfred Moore, the pastor, officiating.

Interment will follow in the local cemetery.
