*Obituary
DeWayne Lipps, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carlton L. Lipps, 515 N. Deahl, was killed shortly before 8 this morning when the car in which he was riding crashed into a bridge, 18 miles north of Amarillo on the Fritch highway.

Scott Stimpson, 27, 426 N. Main, told highway patrolmen that he fell asleep at the wheel. He was uninjured in the wreck, but Lipps was dead when he reached the hospital.

The car, a 1936 Plymouth sedan, was completely demolished.

Lipps, an Army paratrooper, has been home on leave, and was to report to Ft. Knox. His family is away on vacation, and at press time, authorities had been unable to contact his parents.

The youth's father is a pioneer Borgan, having established residence here in 1927. He is superintendent of the Alexander plant of United Carbon.
