*Obituary John J.
John J. Litchford, 74, of 10 North Oberfell, Phillips, died at 3:06 a.m. Sunday in North Plains Hospital.

A resident of Phillips since 1941, Mr. Litchford was a retired supervisor for Phillips Petroleum Company.

He was born in Logan County, Ky., March 12, 1904. He was a member of the Phillips United Methodist Church, Phillips Lions Club and Gruver Masonic Lodge 1326 A.F. & A.M.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Phillips United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jack Ellzey, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery under direction of Ed Brown & Sons Funeral Directors. Masonic rites will be under the auspices of Isom Masonic Lodge 1242.

Mr. Litchford is survived by his wife, Ruth of the home; a son J.A. of Montvale, Va.; five daughters, Mrs. Bob Adams and Mrs. Roy Wood, both of Phillips; Mrs. Ken Roark of Borger; Mrs. Chuck Woods of Sierra Blanca; and Mrs. Marvin Durham of Fritch; 21 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be A.E. Faylor, B.D. Boyd, Glenn Cogdill, O.O. Arrington, Done Fine and Jack Gross.

All Masons are requested to meet at the Masonic Hall at 1 p.m. Tuesday to participate in the services.

Mrs. Ruth Litchford, 86, Borger, died Monday, Sept. 5, 1994 in Canyon View Nursing Home in Dumas.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Andrew United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jon Nichols, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery by Ed Brown & Sons Funeral Directors.

A native of Bowling Green, Ky., she was a Borger resident for 53 years. She was a housewife and a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church. She was a member Hi-Plains Helping Hands and Order of Eastern Star No. 811.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Litchford in 1979.

Survivors include a son, James A. Litchford of Montvale, Va.; five daughters, Shirley Wood and Thelma Dugan, both of Fritch; Louise Adams of Borger; Norma Woods of Midland; and Carol Roark of Dumas; three brothers, Robert Howell of Hardyville, Ky.; Lucian Howell of Hendersonville, Tenn.; and Joe Howell of Horsecave, Ky.; a sister, Ina Farmer of Fort Campbell, Ky.; 21 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
