BORGER - Vernon Leroy Litterell, 90, died Monday, Nov. 24, 2008.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Church of Christ in Borger with Neville Buchanan and Famous Byers, ministers, officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Garden at Highland Park Cemetery by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Vernon was born Sept. 3, 1918, in Forum, Ark. He, along with his sons, Chuck and Kay Litterell, own and operate Vernon and Sons Tire Company, Inc. in Borger.

He was preceded in death by a son, Bobby, in October 1971, and wife Ruth in October 2008.

Survivors include two sons, Kay Litterell and wife Winnie and Chuck Litterell and wife Donna, all of Borger; two daughters, Faye Blanks and husband Mike of Borger and Glenda Chester and husband Rick of Yukon, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Church of Christ at Borger, 1100 Bulldog Blvd., Borger, TX 79007; Hospice Care of the Southwest, 1301 S. Coulter St., Suite 404, Amarillo, TX 79106; or a favorite charity.

Pall bearers will be grandsons, Mykel, Rick, Robby and Kevin Litterell; great-grandsons, Mark, Brandon, Matt, Zeb and Cody Smith, Kolby William and Cameron and Jeffery Litterell; and great-nephews, Jonathan and Matt Litterell.

The family will be at 1000 Elmore St., in Borger.
