*Obituary
J.W. Lowrey, 72, 1018 W. 10th, died Tuesday afternoon in his home.

A retired heavy equipment operator, he was a native of Hedley and a Borger resident for 25 years.

He was a veteran of WWII serving in the Army and a member of the Bible Baptist Church.

He is survived by two stepdaughters, Clyda Speegle of Borger and Dora Cook of Fritch; one sister, Lavada Burleson of Hattiesburg, Miss.; his mother, Ruby Lowrey of Hattiesburg, Miss.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Lucille J. Lowrey in 1984 and 4 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, at Bible Baptist Church with Rev. Leonard Forsythe officiating.

Burial was in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Ed Brown & Sons Funeral Home.
