Services for James Oliver Crowley, Sr., 86, of Ralls will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 16, 2010 at the Ralls First Baptist Church with Pastor Ken Cartwright and Pastor LeRoy Green officiating. Military graveside rites will follow in the Ralls Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

James was born January 25, 1924 in Savage, Texas to the late Oliver and Jewel (Vaughn) Crowley. A lifelong resident of the Ralls area, James worked for the City of Ralls as the Water and Maintenance Superintendent from 1964 to his retirement in 1986. He retired from the Ralls Volunteer Fire Department after 20 years of service. James served in the US Army 11th Airborne during WWII and was a member of the Lubbock Seventh Day Adventist Church. On February 28, 1942 he married Joyce Wayne Cook in Lorenzo. She preceded him in death August 13, 2007.

Survivors include two sons and their wives; James and Judy Crowley, Jr. and Jeff and Maria Crowley, all of Ralls, two daughters and their husbands; Margaret Ann "Susie" and Finn Mjolhus of Porsgrunn, Norway, and Rebecca and Cecil Garvin of Apison, TN, one brother, Billy Max Crowley of Magazine, AR, six sisters, Frances Moses of Hereford, Leta Mae Allen of Kemp, Texas, Betty Jane Pinkerton of California, Margie Wilkerson of Hobbs, NM, Ann Doracheuley of Lubbock and Barbara Crowley of Booneville, AR, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
