Clayton Ray Newsom, 45, died at his home in Brownfield. He was born in Brownfield, a son of J.T. and Maurine (Ticer) Newsom. He was married to Lisa Cotham on March 16, 1984, in Lovington, N.M.
After graduating from Brownfield High School in 1964, he joined the United States Air Force and served during the Vietnam Conflict. He worked as a cotton gin manager.
Survivors included his wife; one daughter, Chandra Rakay Newsom of Olton, Texas; two sons, Lee Newsom and Benton Newsom, both of the home; his parents, J.T. and Maurine Newsom of Brownfield; and a sister, Janice Stokes of Brownfield.
