William F. McRee, 75, passed away at 2:30 this morning at his residence, 1009 Meredith street, following a lengthy period of illness.

McRee was a former prominent civic leader of Hansford county, having served as a County Commissioner during the period of 1926-1932 while a resident at Gruver.

The deceased was an active member in the Gruver First Baptist church and had been a member of the Masonic Lodge for the past 32 years.

McRee is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. T.H. Orman and Mrs. Louise Kirby, both of Borger. Four sons: James F. of Pena-Blanca, New Mexico; Rex of Hot Springs, New Mexico; Victor H. of Dalhart and William T. of Hobbs, New Mexico. Four sisters: Mrs. Frank Summers and Mrs. Grace Schnieder, both of Galveston, Texas; Mrs. Lillian Steinmetz, of San Antonio; and Mrs. Hope Spurlock of San Diego, California.

Also surviving are 15 grand children and four great-grand children.

Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 4 o'clock at the Borger First Baptist Church with the Rev. Herbert Hughes, pastor of the Gruver First Baptist church in charge, assisted by the Rev. Paul Cullen.

Internment will be in the Highland Park cemetery, with the Minton funeral home in charge.
