Graveside services for Iva Joyce Dorsett will be held at 10 am Thursday, July 18, 2019, at Terry County Memorial Cemetery with Brother Gail Faries officiating. There will be a family visitation from 5 pm to 7 pm on Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at Brownfield Funeral Home.

Iva Joyce Dorsett passed away Sunday, July 14th at home in Brownfield, TX. She was born March 30, 1935, in Union, Texas to Mabel (Freeman) and Emory Hobbs. She graduated from Ropesville high school. Joyce married James Dorsett on February 7, 1954. She was a housewife and dedicated her life to her husband and 3 boys. She was also dedicated to the Lord and her church Friendship Primitive Baptist Church in Brownfield.

Joyce is survived by her three sons, James Mark Dorsett of Denver City; Steve Dale Dorsett of Brownfield; Bruce Emory Dorsett and wife Tasha of Lubbock; two grandchildren, Darcy Stockman and husband, Jack of Early, Jacey Soliz and husband, Chano of Lubbock; three great-grandchildren, Jaxson James Stockman, Maddox Van Stockman, Lucas James Soliz.

The family thanks Interim Hospice and Virginia Rodriguez for all of their assistance in her remaining time.

Graveside services for James Cleveland Dorsett will be held at 10 am Saturday, June 8, 2019, at Terry County Memorial Cemetery with Brother Gail Faries officiating.

James passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2019, in Lubbock. He was born December 21, 1931, in Weches, TX to James Edward and Tinnie Ola (Mosely) Dorsett. He graduated from Brownfield High School. James served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Iva Joyce Hobbs in Brownfield at Calvary Baptist Church February 7, 1953. He was a barber for 48 years. James was a deacon at Friendship Primitive Baptist Church in Brownfield. James loved the Lord and was dedicated to his church and family. James was always willing to help those in need. James was an active member of the local American Legion.

James is survived by his wife, Iva Joyce Dorsett; three sons, James Mark Dorsett and wife Melisa of Denver City, Steve Dorsett of Brownfield, Bruce Emory Dorsett and wife Tashsa of Lubbock; two grandchildren, Jacey Soliz and husband Chano of Lubbock, Darcy Stockman and husband, Jack of Early; three great-grandsons, Lucas James Soliz, Jaxson James Stockman, and Maddox Van Stockman; brother, Wayne Dorsett of Lubbock and Margorie Murphy of Grand Prairie.
