FRED BLACKWELL, 48, died in 1999 following a boating accident. Interment was in Alameda Cemetery.
Mr. Blackwell was born in Gorman and raised in Ranger. In 1967, he was in the RHS Class of 1969. He married Debbie Christian and they moved to Fort Worth where he worked for Buddy's Supermarket. He returned to Ranger in 1971 and worked for Quality Supermarket and later Adams Grocery. He married Betty Nance. Fred was employed by the Eastland Mental Health Mental Retardation office at the time of his death. He was a member of the Mesquite and Rusk Street Church of Christ.
Survivors at the time of his death include one son, David Blackwell of Davis, Calif; four daughters, Tammy Weisman of Valley Center, Calif., Jenifer Blackwell of Cleburne, Anessa Nance of Arlington, & Sandra Wuorinen of Eugene, Ore.; his mother, Juanita Blackwell of Ranger; one sister, Gay Blackwell Burnett (RHS-1963) of Ranger; one brother, Larry Blackwell (RHS-1967) of Bedford; and four grand-children.
