Services for Dale Henry Ford, 85, of Bridgeport will be 2:00 pm, Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, officiated by Stephen Starnes. Visitation will be at 1:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, also at Jones. Burial will be Monday, December 12 at 1:00 pm in Paducah, Texas. Dale passed away at home Wednesday, December 7.
Dale was born October 8, 1931 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to Jay Gum and Velve C. (Thompson) Ford. He was a corporal in the US Army and served in the Korean Conflict. Much of his career was spent working in the oilfield. Later he worked for many years for Poynor Industries in Bridgeport. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Bridgeport.
He was a man of few words, with a great sense of humor. He enjoyed woodworking, crossword puzzles, and playing guitar.
He leaves behind sister Macie Ford of Paducah; and brothers Leslie Ford of Paducah, and Grady Ford of Fort Worth, Texas.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Eunice Oliver and Bernice Gregory, and brothers Junior Ford and Albert Ford.
