AMARILLO - James F. "Jim" Morgan, 79, died Sunday, June 27, 1993 in Amarillo.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Brown's Chapel of the Fountains with the Rev. Jimmy Gillmore, pastor Riverview Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery be [sic] Ed Brown & Sons Funeral Directors.

A native of Winthrop, Ark., he was a Borger resident for 49 years, before moving to Amarillo in 1991. He was a retired welder with DISCO Inc. He was a member of Riverview Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; three sons, Frank Schaffer of Marietta, Ga.; Moody Schaffer of Amarillo; and Anton Schaffer of Paradise, Calif.; two daughters, Alice Heavin of Amarillo; and Peggy Pringle of Bethany, Okla.; four brothers, A.A. Morgan of Athens, Lee Morgan of Georgetown; Clarence Morgan of Odessa; and D.A. Morgan of Stephenville; three sisters, Ruby Walker of Arlington, Emily Johnson of Mount Pleasant, and Martha Smith of Borger; 12 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Mary Alice Morgan, 56, died at 6:25 a.m. today at North Plains Hospital of an apparent heart attack.

Services are pending with Ed Brown & Sons Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Morgan resided at 1335 Turner. She had been a Borger resident since 1941.

She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and the VFW Auxiliary. Mrs. Morgan was born in Hooks, March 24, 1918.

Surviving are her husband, James F.; two daughters, Mrs. Alice Lee Heavin of Amarillo and Mrs. Peggy Pringle of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three brothers, Elton LaRue of Drury, Mo., Willis LaRue of Ida, La., and Arnold LaRue of Borger; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Brown, of Borger and Mrs. Betty Sue Moore of Little Rock, Ark. and five grandchildren.
