Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church of Canyon with Dr. Howard Batson, pastor of First Baptist Church of Amarillo, officiating. Graveside service will be at 2:30 P.M. on Tuesday at Highland Park Cemetery in Borger, Texas. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, October 28, 2013 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon.

Maggie Painter was born on November 29, 1956 in Pampa, TX to Howard "Boots" and Patty Bradshaw Braden. She graduated from Borger High School in 1975. She has worked in dentistry for more than 40 years and was most currently in pediatric dentistry in Amarillo. Maggie's greatest joy in this life was her precious daughter, Molly. Her passion in life was rescuing animals. She was proud of her most recent rescue, a blind dog named Ray Charles. She also loved her other two dogs, Stevie Nicks and Jack Nicholson, and her granddogs, Betsy and Penny Lane. Maggie always fought for the underdog. She was known for her kindness, her generous heart and always being there for her daughter and friends. She will be fondly remembered for her great sense of humor, her fun laugh, beautiful smile and her ornery streak. She loved hosting people on her patio surrounded by her beautiful plants and also loved cottage decorating her home. She was preceded in death by her parents and two special dogs, Ginger and Carly Simon.

Survivors include her daughter, Molly Painter, of College Station, TX; her dogs and granddogs; and her many friends that were like family.

The family suggests memorials be to the Texas Panhandle Pet Savers, PO Box 7545, Amarillo, TX 79114.
