Ferlo Smith Stewart was born in New Waverly, Walker County, Texas to Charles "Charlie" Lee Stewart and Irene G. Matthews on April 29, 1918.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1942 and was honorably discharged in 1943. He was ranked as a Private 1st Class. His mother completed his military headstone application.

Marital Status: Single with no dependents.
Mr. Stewart died on September 12, 1944 in Dallas, Dallas County, Texas at the age of 26 from multiple brain abscesses.
