1829 Alabama - March 3, 1910
He was a confederate soldier in Company A 16th Regiment Alabama Infantry 51st Alabama Calvary. 16th Infantry Regiment, assembled at Courtland, Alabama, in August, 1861, contained men from Russell, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Franklin, Cherokee, and Marion counties. On April 26, 1865, about 50 officers and men surrendered.
Mr. Roden died on March 3, 1910 at the age of 81 in Austin, Travis County, Texas.
