Funeral services for Thomas William Platt, 88, resident of Borger since 1929, were held today at 2 p.m. at Ed Brown and Sons Chapel of the Fountains.
Rev. Amos R. Meador, pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene, and Rev. G.W. Fine of East Side Baptist Church officiated.
Interment was in Highland Park Cemetery.
Casketbearers were Bill Whitworth, Bob Dietz, Frank Smithey, Lawton Sands, Nolan Harris and George Brain.
Platt died at 12:10 p.m. Sunday at North Plains Hospital. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, four sons, two daughters, 30 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services for Mary Edna Platt, 97, of Magic Plains Nursing Home, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Brown's Chapel of the Fountains with the Rev. Paul Taylor, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery by Brown's Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Platt died at 8:40 p.m. Sunday in Magic Plains Nursing Home.
A native of Corsicana, she had lived in Borger since 1929. She was a housewife, and longest living member of the First Baptist Church.
She married Thomas William Platt, Dec. 25, 1901 in Fairfield. He died Nov. 11, 1969 in Borger.
Survivors include four sons, Rufus and Vernon of Borger, Douglas of Amarillo, and Tommie of Houston; two daughters, Mrs. Dollie Cade of Borger, and Mrs. Lois Sartor of Goldsmith; 26 grandchildren and 58 great-grandchildren.
The family will be staying at 1020 Lee Street.
