PANHANDLE - (Special) - Funeral services for Oscar Lewis Pope, 53-year-old former Borgan, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Calvary Baptist church of Borger, with the Rev. Jeff Moore, pastor, officiating.
Pope died at Hood River, Oregon, March 5, following a brief illness. He left Borger in 1943.
Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. D.E. Pope, Stinnett; his wife, Pear, of Hood River; three daughters, Mrs. Nellie Knowlton, Hawaii; Mrs. Alma Wilkerson, Lubbock, Mrs. Thelma Davis, Hood River. Six brothers, Jess, Webber Falls, Okla.; A.R., Dalhart; Roy, Albion, Okla.; Frank, San Jose, Calif.; Charlie, Oklahoma City, Okla.; T.J., Borger. Four sisters, Mrs. Dollie Wall, Cottage Grove, Oregon; Mrs. Isobell Davis, Warner, Okla.; Mrs. Grace Roberts, Moyer, Okla.; Mrs. Rose Eckler, Borger.
Pallbearers will be Jim Collier, Forest Evans, J.C. Moore, Charlie Stuart, Olin Cooper and Pete Stockstill.
The body will be shipped to Panhandle and rest at the Poston Funeral Home until Sunday, when services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Interment will be in the Highland Park cemetery under the direction of the Poston Funeral Home of Panhandle.
