Hutchinson County has not had a traffic death this year, contrary to the report in Sunday's Herald.
The Herald had reported that the death of Harmon H. Porter who died in a local hospital Saturday from severe burns he received in an accident west of Stinnett the previous Monday, was the first traffic death this year for Hutchinson County.
P.C. Wynne, highway patrolman stationed at Pampa, called the Herald office this morning to report investigation revealed that the accident had resulted in a traffic death for Moore County, not Hutchinson County as originally announced.
Wynne said the accident, in which the truck Porter was driving had struck a culvert and caught fire, occurred seven-tenths of a mile west of the Hutchinson County line - in Moore County.
