*Obituary
Parents: Margaret O and Andrew J Roberts
(Published in Borger Daily Herald, May 20, 1941)
Robert S. Roberts, Sr., 61, died at 12:30 this morning at the family residence, 201 East tenth street, following a lingering illness.
A retired railroad worker, Roberts had been in Borger since 1935, coming here from Longview.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 4:30 o'clock in the chapel of the Powell Funeral Home, with the Rev. J.N. Hunt, Baptist pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Highland cemetery.
Besides the widow, survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Joe B. Smith, Borger, Mrs. Joe Daniel of Shreveport, La., three sons, R.S. Roberts, Jr., Louis Roberts, Jack Roberts, all of Borger; three sisters, Mrs. P.C. Scheling of Dallas, Mrs. Roy Cloar of Pauls Valley, Okla., Mrs. W.R. Alexander of Shawnee, Okla., and three brothers, Arthur of Anson, J.B. and F.F., both of Wills Point.
Pallbearers will be B.L. Rushing, T.G. Ray, Tom Stroud, J.W. Bell, S.M. McNabb, Oscar Pope.
