Michael Sterling Gentle was born in Perth and Kinross, Scotland in February 1851. Michael died in Somerville, Burleson County, Texas January 9,1907 at 55 years of age.
In 1874 Michael immigrated to the United States.
Michael Sterling Gentle and Virginia C. Lang were married in 1898.
