*Obituary Rufus
Funeral services for R.H. "Harry" Sasser, 72, of 304 Dolomita, were held at 4 p.m. Saturday in Ed Brown & Sons Chapel of the Fountains with the Rev. Robert Lacewell, pastor of the Bunvista [sic] Baptist Church, officiating.

Masonic graveside rites were held in Highland Park Cemetery under the auspicies [sic] of Isom Masonic Lodge 1242. Burial followed under the direction of Ed Brown & Sons Funeral Directors.

Sasser died at 2:15 a.m. Friday in High Plains Baptist Hospital in Amarillo. He had been a resident of Borger for the past 34 years and was retired from Phillips Petroleum Company.

He was a member of Isom Masonic Lodge 1242 A.M. & A.F.

Survivors include his wife, a daughter, four brothers, a sister, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Casketbearers were Ed Fox, Jack Prent, Ben Hancock, A.W. Walker, George Benham, Buster Kerwin.

BROWNFIELD - Opal Sasser, 87, died Monday, April 13 at the Brownfield Regional Medical Center.

Graveside services were at3 p.m. Tuesday at the Highland Park Cemetery with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor of the Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was under the direction of Brown Funeral Directors.

Casket bearers were Jimmy Don Pence, Jade Johnson, John Pence, Gabe Johnson, Jasper Pence, and Matt Johnson.

Mrs. Sasser was native of Konawa, Okla. and a former long-time resident of Borger. She was a housewife and a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her husband, R.H. "Harry" Sasser in 1975; one brother; and two sisters.

Survivors include one daughter, Joyce C. Johnson of Amherst; one brother, Woody Cargill of Carmichael, Calif.; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
