Services Set For W.S. Slate
Funeral services for Wesley S. Slate, 69, a Borger resident 17 years, are scheduled at 4 p.m. Saturday in Rock Creek Baptist Mission, 722 Platt. The pastor, the Rev. Bill Webb, will officiate.
Interment will be in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Mortuary. Casketbearers are Bob Nuttle, T.E. Reams, L.A. Blain, Odis McNally, Gordon Nell, Allen Price.
Mr. Slate died Thursday morning at his home, 716 Missouri. He was a retired city employee.

Funeral services for Minnie Slate, 92, 716 Derr, who died Friday in her home, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Minton Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Kevin Hallowell, pastor of First Christian Church of Miami, Tex. officiating.
Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Pallbearers will be Elijah Slate, Jr., Ray Deavers, Leon Williams, Tommy Gregory, Bobby Maddox, Johnny Heiskell, and Shawn Deavers.
A housewife, she was a native of Lima, Texas and a Borger resident since 1945.
She was a member of the Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Carl Slate of Borger, and Elijah Slate, Jr., of Miami, Tex.; one daughter, Mrs. Bud Fisher of Hereford; 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
