*Obituary Roy
Roy Wayne Smith, 52, of 1120 Valley Drive, a resident of Borger for 35 years, died at 4:30 a.m. today in North Plains Hospital.

He was a pumper for J. M. Huber Corp., an employee for 19 years. He was a member of Gardner Street Church of Christ, and a veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Juanita Marie; son, Dale of the home; stepson, Jan Lipps of Norman, Okla.; four sisters, Mrs. Georgia Fitzwater of Kansas City, Mrs. Mabel Trowbridge of Bartlesville, Mrs. Mae Baker of Tulsa, Mrs. Gale Gassaway of Baldwin Park, Calif.; and one granddaughter.

Funeral services are pending with Minton Mortuary.

BORGER - Juanita M. Smith, 83, died Thursday, April 6, 2000.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel with Richard Kasko, minister of Church of Christ in Fritch, officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Garden at Highland Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith was born in Dallas and lived in Borger 70 years. She was a homemaker and member of the Gardner Street Church of Christ.

She married Roy W. Smith in 1947 at Borger. He died in 1967. She also was preceded in death by a son, Dale A. Smith, in 1977.

Survivors include a son, Jan D. Lipps of Borger; a sister, Bernice Miles of Dallas; three grandchildren, Tammy Argo of Borger, Deanne Meek of Fritch, and Shelly Shaltry of Amarillo; and six greatgrandchildren.

The family will be at 119 Fairview.

Pallbearers are Derrick Argo, Mike Meek, Mat Shaltry, Terry Nix, Eric Henderson, and Jim Johnston.
