Rosary for Leonard J. Kahlich, 75, of Slaton will be at 7 p.m. today in Englunds Chapel with the Rev. Lawrence Hemp officiating.

Resurrection mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Slaton with the Rev. Lawrence Hemp, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Englewood Cemetery in Slaton under direction of Englunds Funeral Service.

Kahlich died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999, at his residence.

He was born March 13, 1923, in Slaton. He attended St. Joseph Parochial School in Slaton. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was a life member of Slaton Veterans of Foreign Wars 6721 and Sons of Hermann 216-2 of Rowena. He was a former member of Carpenters Union Local 1884. He was a cotton farmer and carpenter until retiring. He married Bernice Erna Buxkemper on April 23, 1946, in Slaton.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, David of Snyder, Wayne of Brownwood, Jimmy of Slaton and Gary of Dallas; four daughters, Helen Potter of Payne, Ohio, Linda Ross of Austin, Susan Schwertner of Ballinger and Mary Kahlich of San Antonio; a brother, Charlie of Slaton; three sisters, Mary Odilia Kahlich of Lubbock, Lenora Nesbitt of Slaton and Joan Behrends of Ozark, Mo.; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
