Jimmie Edward Tate, 83, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2013.
A memorial service will be held 10 am Monday, December 9, 2013 at Eternal Light Church. Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery. Cremation is under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors.
Jimmie was born June 15, 1930 in Jefferson City, Missouri to Pete and Myrtle Tate. He married Delwanda Cummings in Clovis, New Mexico on September 6, 1951.
Jimmie proudly served in the United States Navy. He was voted Man of the Year and was honorable mention as an unsung hero in 2001. Jimmie loved his family dearly and always doted over his wife. He loved gardening, woodworking, trains, fishing and traveling.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Elbert, Willie, Jerry Don, Bobby Sargent, Jimmy Ray Sargent; and granddaughter, Jessica Tate.
Survivors include his son, Darrel Tate and his wife, Lendy of Borger; daughters, Patricia Lynne Preston of Borger, Katherine Louise McElreath and her husband, David of Waco; brother, Elijah Tate and his wife, Janie of Fritch; sister, Kay Tate Adams and her husband, Bill of Hale Center; sister-in-law, Martha Tate of Fritch; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.

Delwanda Tate 78 of Borger died Saturday December 24, 2011.
Services will be at 10 AM Wednesday in Eternal Light Church with the Rev Willie Adams officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Tate was born December 17, 1933 in Ada, Oklahoma to Isaac and Ethel Cummings. She married Jimmie Tate on September 06, 1951 in Clovis, New Mexico.
Survivors include her husband Jimmy Tate; Son Darrel Tate of Borger; 2 Daughters Patricia Lynne Preston of Borger and Katherine McElreath of Waco; 3 Brothers Stanley Cummings of Borger, Donald Cummings of Panhandle and Charles Self of Clovis; 4 Sisters Dorothy Taylor of Oregon, Glenda Turnbill of Tennessee, Linda Shattuck of South Carolina and Maudine Grant of Wellington; 8 Grandchildren; and 9 Great-grandchildren.
